Owl Illustrated Black Walnut Seed
Owl Illustrated Black Walnut Seed

Upon moving into a home with a very un-maintained back yard - I began raking up very heavy leaves from years of neglect, many close to fully decomposing - but found these.
After some research I discovered they are Black Walnut seeds. I am not certain if they were brought from a squirrel or dropped by a bird, because I don't believe the trees in my yard are Black Walnut - but one is questionable based on the bark.
With that fun story, I just could NOT not see the face of an owl...so, it began...just like it began with the produce I began with the rocks for my Garden Charms I began in 2019. Pareidolia is a thing I guess, where you see things - within things. I mean, some of my rock art is insanely intricate and took so much time to make believable into what I saw. And, pricey - but an amazing talking piece for any room! ;) Just like these OWLS :)
I only have produced two so far, with some more I have saved up to create, but there will maybe only be a total of 6 when completed. SO, these are cute, custom and rare apparently. I have educated many on what these are.
We have the larger one which I made into a barn owl, or so my memory told me.
The smaller one I made into a snow owl.
Each were drilled by a tiny drill bit, and a tiny tabletop drill press that I bought specifically for things like this, then equipped with a eyehole screw and stainless steel ball chain keychain.
Oh yes, and the owls were clear coated as well! I would also recommend that if you notice any wear or tear, to simply add a thin clear protective coat in 6 months to a year. But, if just hanging around not bumping up against things - it should be fine for awhile! :)
