Seahorse II

This was literally an end piece of a Formica corner bar top I cut off to fit in my kitchen in Chicago - it’s the end piece- so I chose to do what I do and paint on it, with of course another “embrace it” moment.

This was really pretty at first, smooth surface AGAIN (this seems to be a reoccurring instance with me ) clear coated it - and then it for some reason began to bubble - Ack! 

So I grabbed a heat gun hoping to smooth it out, but it began bubbling the Formica under neath AND the clear coat on top !! I’m just like “welp! let’s have fun with it now!”

I looked at the lower bottom left (our right) where it bubbled up and realized I could paint it to look like rocks! So crazy how I actually loved the unwanted texture that evolved...and! Because of the ledge on the back, easy hang!
